I spent 22 years working inside the healthcare system and thought I understood it from every angle. Then my husband was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma and Central Nervous System Lymphoma, and I found myself on the other side. Even with everything I knew, navigating the system to make sure he got what he needed was overwhelming. I kept thinking about all the families doing this without that insider knowledge. I couldn't imagine how they managed.

Caregiving is one of the hardest things a person can do, and almost nobody prepares you for it. I wrote my book and built my coaching practice because every caregiver deserves someone in their corner who actually knows how the system works.

I'm a Registered Nurse, and I'm currently in school finishing my doctorate of Science in Integrated Healthcare. I'm also a maker and a mom living in Parsons, West Virginia. I believe that good care, for your loved one and for yourself, should never feel out of reach.
